| | May 2002. Autumn in New Zealand. This was taken on the South Island in one of the temperate rainforests that abound all over the island. Mosses thrive very well here, the amount of rain some parts of the island receive is huge. I believe the figures of 10,000-15,000 mm were mentioned to us as being the average annual rainfall amount for the West Coast. We had our fair share of it whilst travelling in the area, but have come to enjoy it as part of the experience of being there. We shall definitively return soon.
